The Roundhouse Guesthouse \ Accommodation in De Kelders

The Roundhouse Guesthouse is situated in De Kelders, THE prime land based whale watching area in the world. The Roundhouse is a three storey high modern African round building with a thatched roof. The house is very unique and specifically designed to give you a luxurious and comfortable stay with that special African feel to it. We spent over a year renovating and adding very special touches such as Quartz and Shell stone clad stone walls contrasting with rough earthy paints.

Special features are: Spiral Tree staircase, large entertainment area with whale watching balcony, surround sound and free Wi-Fi. All suites have bedrooms, living rooms and bathrooms and have all the little extras such as a microwave, toaster, coffee / tea facilities, bar fridge, television, DVD player, stereo, hairdryer, sewing kit, first aid kit, toiletries and more to make your stay as enjoyable and comfortable as possible (not self-catering). The huge whale watching deck is complete with jacuzzi. There is a full breakfast menu from full English, pancakes, health breakfast and French toast.

The Guesthouse is a two minute walk to the local Pub and Grill, one minute walk from a bakery / shop and a five minute walk from the best swimming beach in the area. There are kilometres of walking trails close to the Guesthouse which are world class during Whale season (July to December)

The owners of The Roundhouse also own of the main tourist booking office in Gansbaai called The Great White Adventure Centre. This is the central booking office for the White Shark Cage Diving and activities in the area and can professionally and easily assist you to make the most out of the area during your stay with us. For the shark diving clients we would suggest that you book this with us in advance to avoid disappointment. With our extensive knowledge of the industry we always guarantee a professional and efficient service to our clients. We can also create a package for your holiday and handle everything from the accommodation to activities and car hire / transfers so all you have to do is turn up and enjoy your well-deserved time off!

Pinnepedia Suite
The suite is spacious with a large lounge with comfortable two-seater leather couch, TV (with Satellite) and stereo with CD. There is a small kitchenette designed to make your stay all that more comfortable (not self-catering) and a single bed dressed as a couch. The bedroom is spacious and beds can be arranged into two Single or one King size. The bathroom has a bath and separate shower. Toiletries such as liquid soap, shampoo and body wash and a hair dryer is supplied. Free Wi-Fi is throughout the whole Guesthouse.

The Cetecea & Astacus Suites
These suites are half-moon shape and make for a very interesting layout. The theme is African and the suites are decorated with very clean cut simplicity. The lounges have a comfortable two-seater couch, TV (Satellite), DVD, Stereo with CD and small kitchenette designed to make your stay all that more comfortable (not self-catering). The bedrooms are large and the beds can be split into single beds otherwise huge King size beds. Television can be watched from both living room and bedroom due to the unique cut-out viewing hole between the rooms. The carpeted floor in the bedrooms create warmth and comfort mixed with the contrasting textures on the walls of gravel textured earth paint and Quartz walls giving the room a real African feel. The lights are on dimmer switches to set the mood. The bathrooms are luxurious and spacious with corner baths and walk-in showers. Free Wi-Fi is throughout the whole Guesthouse.

The Carcharias Suite
The Carcharias Suite is our most luxurious two bedroom, two bathroom suite that has been decorated with 5 Star luxury and African feel in mind. The lounge boasts a large plasma screen TV (Satellite) with DVD and surround-sound, a small kitchenette designed to make your stay all that more comfortable (not self-catering). The swivel TV design is completely unique allowing you to watch TV from the living room or bedroom. The lounge has a large six seater couch and great sea views over the bay from a private balcony sweeping around the building.

The bedrooms have beds that can be split into two single beds or King sized beds. Bedroom 1 has a walk-in cupboard and vanity area with large mirror, counter top and stool, carpeted floor creates warmth and comfort whilst the fine detail such as gravel textured paint on the walls contrasting with and Shell stone cladding truly creates a unique and quality African feel. The on-suite bathroom has a jacuzzi spa bath and sandstone and granite shower. The décor is solid natural stone along with earthy features to create an extremely luxurious African feel. Free Wi-Fi is throughout the whole Guesthouse.

The Sunfish Cottage
The cottage is our ideal choice for families with full kitchen, TV (Satellite), indoor and outdoor braai's, garden and three bedrooms and two bathrooms. Beds can also be arranged into six Single and one Double or three King sized beds and one Double. The cottage is across the road from the Guesthouse and you can use the facilities of the Guesthouse such as the Free Wi-Fi. The cottage is only a one minute walk to the bakery / shop and two minutes to the local excellent pub and grill. There is a safe swimming beach a two minute drive / five minute walk away.
