Situated 10km outside Napier in the picturesque Sandy’s Glen Valley, this self-catering cottage is a piece of heaven. The guest farm welcomes you to the timeless African farm much just like Karen Blixen’s “Out of Africa”.
Self Catering Accommodation
The old world farm-style cottage offers a double bedroom with a double bed and another with two single beds. A double futon is also available. There is additional accommodation in large log cabins. All linen and towels are provided.
The lovely open plan kitchen, dining and lounge area has a fireplace ideal for braaiing indoors or for a cosy night around the fire.
The kitchen has a microwave, fridge, two plate stove and is well equipped for the ardent chef! The large enclosed verandah allows for long leisurely afternoon siestas in true African style!
Breakfast
Breakfast can be included in your package or you can take the 15 minute drive down to Napier and enjoy a hearty farm-style breakfast or lunch at the Napier Farm Stall. Here you can enjoy home cooked lunches like lentil bake, quiche, traditional spicey lamb curry, oxtail or home-made soups or treat yourself to the famous black pan breakfast. A wide variety of preserves, bakes and gifts are on offer.
Activities and Attractions
Enjoy long country walks or cycle through the farmlands. There is a wonderful private dam to laze around on sunny days or have a dip in the swimming pool. If you are feeling more energetic, visit the art galleries, restaurants and soak up the old world charm the little village of Napier offers.
In this paradise your children can feed the donkeys or watch the abundant variety of birds. Artists, photographers and writers will find inspiration and those seeking peace and tranquility, will find a quiet spot for meditation.
Sit on the large vine-covered stoep and watch the world go by!
