Southey Cottage is located near the slopes of Table Mountain in the beautiful leafy suburb of Upper Claremont. It has a lovely sheltered and private garden - with pool, trampoline and superb mountain views, and secure off street parking. The pretty garden is an absolute haven of peace and quiet.

Southey Cottage is very centrally situated. We have easy access to the City, UCT, the V&A Waterfront, Table Mountain Cableway, Cavendish Square Shopping Centre, as well as many fine restaurants and pubs. The Constantia Wine Route and Estates, Hout Bay, Cape Town Airport as well as many beaches are all within a 15 minute drive from Southey Cottage.

If you feel like a leg stretch, Kirstenbosch Gardens nearby are perfect for a stroll and for sports fans, Newlands Ruby and Cricket Stadiums are just around the corner,

Accommodation

Southey Cottage offers four very comfortable double en suite bedrooms which are tastefully furnished - each with its own private entrance. Three suites have their own mini kitchenette with fridge, micro-wave, tea and coffee making utensils and facilities that can be used for warming up convenience meals. The fourth room has a fridge, kettle, tea, coffee etc.

All the normal little comforts of heated towel rails, hairdryer, shaving plugs, heaters, fans, wireless ADSL for business purposes and shared DSTV etc are available. Beach towels are available as well. Smoking is only allowed on your balcony, patio or outside please.

Services & Facilities

On your arrival, your hosts will invite you to the lovely quiet private garden - for a cup of tea or coffee under the old Yellowwood tree with its lovely view of Devil’s Peak while you sip!

Soon you will relax and feel very much at home. We have a very informal and relaxed atmosphere and obviously respect your need for privacy and quiet.

We can arrange airport transfers, as well as any other local travel needs you may have. Hire cars, tour guides and taxis - or any out of town trips or visits that you may wish to do can be organised.

Southey Cottage has been caring for guests for over 13 years. Our guests return regularly and love to book their same suite. We thoroughly enjoy having them all back to stay at Southey Cottage!
