Santosha \ Accommodation in McGregor

Santosha is located in a quiet part of McGregor but within a few minutes walk of the many restaurants in the village and the Krans Nature Reserve. Santosha is also two minutes walk from the picturesque dam in which you can safely swim.

This is an ideal cottage for a quiet weekend get-away and for exploring the Breede River Winelands. All you have to do is arrive. Spending a weekend or a few days in this cottage in McGregor is an unforgettable and relaxing experience.

Accommodation

Santosha is a lovely, spacious self catering thatched cottage for two, in a quiet beautiful garden with roses and lavender. The cottage has a large lounge with two sofas, TV and a fire place. There is fully equipped kitchen with hot plate, microwave, fridge etc. and a dining area inside the cottage or in the garden.

There is a large en-suite bathroom with double shower and fluffy towels. The bedroom is a spacious double bedroom with queen size bed. All fresh linen is supplied. The accommodation is set in a large secluded courtyard garden with a shaded braai area with picnic table, chairs and umbrella.

McGregor

McGregor is a charming village surrounded by mountain trails, fruit orchards, olive groves and vineyards. It is considered one of the best examples of a mid-nineteenth century town scape in the Cape. The Village has been described as "one of the Jewels of South Africa" and is famous for its traditional whitewashed thatched cottages. The local brass marching band can often be heard in the distance on weekends entertaining locals and visitors with their music.

Activities and Attractions

Santosha Cottage is the ideal place to end a day of cycling, hiking, golfing or wine tasting. Relaxing massages, alternative remedies and therapies are available in the village. Quaint restaurants and pubs are scattered around the village, as are pottery and craft shops. Fresh vegetables are available from the local farm stall and on Saturday there is a morning market.

McGregor is situated 15 minutes from Robertson and less than two hours drive from Cape Town. The popular wine route R62 is the longest in the world with over 50 wineries, and goes through the town of Robertson, which has all the major shops and facilities that may be required. McGregor also has nine wineries who welcome visitors.
