We are nestled amongst Shiraz vineyards with breathtaking mountain views. After a day of sightseeing or wine-tasting, return to the tranquillity of Rose Cottage where you can relax and enjoy the views.

Self Catering Accommodation

There are 5 self-catering units to choose from. The 200 year old barn and wine cellar has been converted into 4 separate units with each cottage tastefully furnished in the French Provencal style. The 5th cottage is a short distance away from the main building.

The Barn
The converted barn is generously proportioned with a huge fireplace and under floor heating in the bedroom. It consists of a lounge, open-plan kitchen, with a bedroom and en-suite bathroom with shower and slipper bath on the mezzanine floor. The pool and verandah are off the lounge area. Throw some logs on the fire, enjoy a glass of wine and delight in the ambience of the Barn.

The Cottage
It consists of 2 bedrooms. The first contains a queen-sized bed and the second bedroom upstairs has twin beds. The main bedroom has under floor heating and an en-suite bathroom with bath and shower. There is a comfortable lounge with fireplace, kitchen and dining area. Enjoy the spectacular views from the patio, lie by the pool or snuggle up and enjoy what is on television.

The Cellar
This cottage consists of a lounge, dining room, kitchen and bedroom with an en-suite bathroom with shower and bath. A sleeper couch is available to accommodate children. For those cold winter evenings there is a cozy fireplace, television and under floor heating in the bedroom. Have breakfast on your verandah or sip cocktails whilst watching the sun set.

The Loft
Work your way up the stairs to the Loft where you feel you are amongst the birds. The views are spectacular from here. This cottage consists of lounge, dining area, kitchen and bedroom with bathroom with both shower and slipper bath. There is under floor heating in the bedroom for those cold wintery nights and easy access to the pool for the balmy summer days.

The Stables
The Stables offers the discerning traveller the ultimate sanctuary of comfort and privacy. This 2 bed roomed secluded cottage has an open-plan kitchen, lounge and dining area and a fireplace for the cold evenings. It has its own plunge pool and private barbeque area. The main bedroom has a queen bed and the 2nd bedroom, twin beds - each with its own bathroom with bath and shower.

Facilities

There are 2 barbeque areas, a rim-flow pool off the patio with comfortable lounge chairs and large, green lawns. Create your own meals with local cheeses, olives, smoked trout, renowned wines and other delicacies. Perfect to enjoy under the old oak trees.

All units are serviced daily, except on Good Friday, Christmas Day and New Year’s Day. Linen is changed every 3 days. An initial load of firewood is supplied and additional wood is available. All cottages have hairdryers. Our water is safe to drink.

Location & Attractions

We are 2.5 km from the centre of the village of Franschhoek, Cape Town is an hour’s drive away and Hermanus for winter whale watching is a beautiful 90 minute drive away.

You are welcome to walk amongst the vineyards and enjoy the quiet and the fresh air and our wonderful views.
