Roodenburg House 1882 \ Accommodation in Rondebosch

This beautiful historic house was built in 1882 and is situated in the leafy suburb of Rondebosch in the shadow of Table Mountain and Devil’s Peak. The house was built according to the Arts and Crafts style of architecture finding favour in Victorian England and its colonies. For 25 years leading pathologist, Dr Judy Whittaker, conducted her practice at Roodenburg House.

During 2009, Judy and a team of close confidants began planning the renovation of the old lady, and Roodenburg Guest House was born and ready to receive guests in June 2010. This Guest House has become very popular with corporate and overseas families, as well as hosting conferences for national and foreign companies.

ACCOMMODATION

This four star lovely old house exudes hospitality and offers a warm, welcoming ‘home from home’ experience. A comfortable lounge area opens onto the swimming pool and surrounds which invite one to just “kick back” and relax. However, this room also has a lovely old fireplace which encourages one to curl up and relax during the colder months of the year. The quaint garden is beautifully laid out with the ‘honeymoon suite’ opening onto its own private courtyard area. This lovely room contains one of the period fireplaces to add to its charm.

Roodenburg House has five spacious en suite bedrooms, each individually designed by Leigh Wishard Interiors.

All bedrooms have fresh flowers, air-conditioning / heating, LCD TV, DVD player, selected Satellite TV, wireless internet connection and 24 hour ADSL. Also supplied are WiFi, hair dryers, shaving points, refreshment trays, personal safes, his and hers fluffy velour robes and heated towel rails. Electric blankets, water bottles, finest 400 thread cotton count linen, hypo-allergenic bedding, complimentary tea and coffee trays, are included for your comfort. We supply private room safes, refreshment and complimentary tea and coffee trays. A library is available for your convenience.

Breakfast and Dining

This accommodation includes a full English breakfast with freshly squeezed orange juice. Dinners and lunches are available without prior notice.

LOCATION

Roodenburg Luxury Guest House is close to Newlands Cricket and Rugby Grounds, Kelvin Grove, Cavendish Square, the Claremont CBD and Kirstenbosch Gardens. It is situated fifteen minutes away from the Waterfront with easy access to freeways to many of the Cape’s scenic routes and a whole range of restaurants and culinary delights.

NOTES

We are a non smoking guest house but ash trays are available in the pool area.

Roodenburg Guest House has a contracted taxi service for transfers to and from the airport and CBD. Tours to the wine lands, Cape Point and other popular tourist attractions can be arranged.
