Olifantsrus Self Catering is a beautifully appointed holiday home located on a working citrus farm, about 1h45 minutes from Cape Town, in Citrusdal. Olifantsrus self catering offers stunning views and is the ideal place for a relaxed holiday in a tastefully decorated atmosphere.

Accommodation

Olifantsrus is a sunny holiday house, which sleeps up to 16 persons. There are four tastefully furnished units with double beds and bunk beds each with an en-suite bathroom, a living area with flat screen TV and an equipped kitchen. Unit one is also equipped with a fire place.

This self catering holiday home is set on the foot of a rocky outcrop of weathered sandstone surrounded by orange trees and a lush garden with many indigenous plants which offers a stunning perfume during the spring months. From the patio and the balcony you have great views over the garden, the Cederberg Mountains and citrus grove.

Unit 1
This unit is the largest of all 4, it has 1 double bed and 2 sofa beds that can each accommodate 2 people, a fire place, flat screen TV with Dstv, a separate kitchen, bathroom with tub and shower, a large stoep with view of the garden and the citrus groves.

Unit 2
This units has a double bed, a kitchen, living room with Flat screen TV and DSTV and en suite shower room. This unit opens up onto the foot of the mountain.

Unit 3
This unit has an open plan kitchen, a sitting area with a flat screen TV and DSTV, a double bed and bunk beds in the bedroom, en suite shower room.

Unit 4
This unit has a double bed and bunk beds, a flat screen TV with DSTV, a kitchen area and en suite bathroom.

Citrusdal

The lively rural village of Citrusdal lies amongst green citrus orchards, fields of rooibos tea and wild flowers in spring time. Try to take time to go have a look at the oldest orange tree in the country - over 250 years’ old - which stands on the Hexrivier farm in the valley of Citrusdal.

For extreme outdoor lovers, you can rent mountain bikes from us and go for a ride on the farm or in the Cederberg!

Citrusdal also has nice restaurants and coffee shops, We recommend the following two venues;

'Die Sitrus', located on the main road in Citrusdal. Die Sitrus is a popular deli, coffee shop, bar and grill open seven days a week and offers a wide range of locally made products and excellent quality food.

'Bydidam'; It is a new bar/restaurant on a dam, less than 1km from the main road; It has a nice outdoor terrace with an amazing view, a very friendly atmosphere & local food. Open for lunch & dinner.
