Part wholesome caravan park, part designer farm lodge, Old Mac Daddy Trailer Hotel is a new chapter in adventure, escapism and pure relaxation. Set on the pine-whispering slopes of a beautiful corner of the Elgin Valley, Old Mac Daddy is a collection of vintage Airstream Trailer Suites, each designed by an artist, designer or creative living and working in Cape Town.

Fully catered and serviced; Old Mac Daddy offers trailer units with themed bedrooms and earth-friendly living spaces. A big designer barn is the communal area where all meals are served. Visit the Grolsch bar or take a dip in the swimming pool, explore the area or just relax.

Accommodation

TRAILER SUITES
Old Mac Daddy consists of ten trailer suites, two lake-side units and a family farm house - Daddy’s Villa. Each of our trailer suites is a world of its own. The Airstreams themselves have been transformed into bespoke bedrooms; each with its own theme, style and feeling from the magical to the quirky and a whole range of delicate and wonderful things in between.

All but the lakeside suites, have additional living areas and decks, which allow for light-filled lounging (or use it as a kids bedroom) and time out. An en-suite bathroom with shower adds luxury to the experience making it a camping holiday like no other.

Heated in winter, cooled in summer and cleverly insulated throughout, you will be sleeping way past the first cock-a-doodle-doo!

THE BARN, RESTAURANT AND GROLSCH BAR

This barn is more of an off-piste designer ski-lodge (without the snow, of course) boasting dramatic agrarian vistas and a vibe that says poolside in summer, fireside in winter.

The indoor-outdoor barn is where guests can enjoy healthy, wholesome meals, and treats throughout the day. Chef Siya Mnguni and restaurateur Gordon Manuel have composed a kitchen vision that centres around fresh, local ingredients and big appetites.

Grolsch, the premium Dutch beer behind the sleek, magnetic Airstream, is also the creative force behind the world-class bar at the heart of the park. The large 13-metre bar makes a bold statement with its size and striking finishes. One of only a few to offer Grolsch draught, the bar is fitted with a stainless steel tap imported from Europe.

Old Mac Daddy welcomes small people with an indoor-outdoor play area called ‘ The big Apple’ and a daily set kiddies meal. Parents must however take heed that a pool and natural, unfenced lakes are a part of this landscape and children should be watched at all times.

CONFERENCING

Old Mac Daddy is a brilliant spot to hold a small group workshop, meeting or conference. With space for 15 individual guests (if none of them share a room) to stay over, this is a good place to hold your next team building event.

Our facilities include wireless access, an AV system, projector and a 20 seater boardroom. Groups taking the whole venue will be able to make use of the restaurant area in the barn too. A large lake-side deck area is perfect for some deep thinking and there are plenty of natural spots to send teams off to for breakaways.

Close enough to Cape Town to make it a day event (you won’t want to leave though), Old Mac Daddy is perfect for product launches, year-end parties and adventure days. As the park is a residents-only one, day bookings are made subject to conditions and availability. The surrounding Elgin area can also offer plenty of activity and fun.

Reflective and personal workshops, yoga retreats and other self-development workshops will all fit in perfectly in the inspiring natural setting with spaces to be together and places to be alone.

WEDDINGS

Old Mac Daddy is a special location to create interesting, memorable events. Small, unusual and custom-made to suit the person who wants to do something out of the ordinary.

If you dream of a barefoot luxury wedding or if you want to celebrate a milestone in your life; Old Mac Daddy is the special, memorable place to do the deed. Relaxed, unfussy and all about friends; Old Mac Daddy can host a wedding or gathering for up to 40 guests. A beautiful stretch of lawn beside the lake is perfect for a ceremony and our barn venue is a magnificent indoor-outdoor space for your reception or party.

Our wedding package includes the use of all the Airstreams and the house; Daddy’s Villa, which makes a great base for the bridal party to prepare. The Elgin area offers plenty of additional accommodation and lots of activities to keep your guests busy before and after the big event.
