The quite relaxed atmosphere of the manor house is ideally suited for the business traveller. A safe play area / jungle gym in our garden as well as an enclosed swimming pool makes Oakhurst the ideal family getaway- overnight stay.

Accommodation

The spacious rooms have air conditioning, a bath / shower, TV with M-Net and selected DStv, a tea tray and an electronic safe. Our facilities include a swimming pool, ladies bar, in / outdoor braai facilities, children’s playground, secure private parking on the property and credit / debit cards facilities are available.

Self catering units
We offer three luxury, fully equipped self catering units in a garden setting. One unit is designed to meet the special needs of the physically disabled. All rooms have a choice of twin or king size beds, TV with M-Net and shared DStv. The units have a fully equipped kitchen and a patio braai (barbeque).

Guest House
There are also five spacious, luxury rooms with bath or shower in the guest house. These rooms are individually decorated. They have air conditioning / fans and TV with M-Net and shared DStv.

Relax at our swimming pool, ladies bar and in / outdoor braai facilities while your children entertain themselves in our special playground.

Conferences

We offer conferences and catering for small functions (30 guests maximum). Cash bar facilities are available. The beautiful garden is a perfect setting for wedding photos.

Attractions and Activities

Hiking around Riversdale
The Sleeping Beauty hiking trail covers a distance of 13km from its start at the Toll House to the crest of Sleeping Beauty and ack. Views from the top are magnificent. The Kristalkloof trail measures 20.9km and is an easy to moderate 20 day hike. The trail starts in Kristalkloof (Garcia Pass) and will fascinate the Fynbos lover.

Cultural heritage
The town has a rich cultural heritage and the Julius Gordon Africana centre (1860) houses a remarkable collection of artworks by famous South African artists. The Old Toll House built in 1877 and now a national monument is situated in the Garcia Pass. St Matthews Anglican Church, a stone building erected in 1859, is situated in Heidelberg Road. The old jail, built in 1834, is worth a visit. Take a tour around the jail and experience the history around this building.

Riversdale

At the foot of the Sleeping Beauty Mountain Peak, a well loved landmark, Riversdale has earned its name as the Floral Paradise of the Garden Route, due to the abundance of indigenous Cape fynbos which covers the mountains and surrounding region.
