Malherbe Guesthouse \ Accommodation in Montagu

Owners Joop and Micky warmly welcome guests to their Cape Dutch style guesthouse / Bed & Breakfast in Montagu, South Africa. Malherbe Guesthouse is a National Monument and was built in 1859.

The house has been lovingly restored and offers five en-suite rooms, four with private entrance and patio or verandah as accommodation. Rooms have a bar-fridge, electronic safe, fan, a heater for the winter, hospitality tray and hairdryer, Wi-Fi hot spot, garden rooms have air conditioning (cooling and heating), TV with DStv. The guesthouse also has a spacious guest lounge where you can enjoy a complementary glass of Montagu Muscadel.

ACCOMMODATION

Room in the main house (rear of the house, room 2)
Enjoy the atmosphere of Cape Dutch living. Room with a high ceiling (cool in summer) and wooden flooring. This room is furnished with antiques. Bedroom with queen size bed, bar-fridge and electronic safe, hairdryer, tea & coffee making facility, a fan for those sunny summer days and a heater & electric blanket for the chilly winter nights. Wi-Fi hot spot. Spacious bathrooms with shower and (small) bath.

Comfort garden rooms (room 3 & 4)
Complete privacy with separate entrance and private patio. Contemporary room decorated with African touches. Spacious bedroom with queen size bed and TV (M-Net), bar-fridge and electronic safe, Wi-Fi hot spot. Air conditioning (cooling and heating), electric blanket for the chilly winter nights. Spacious bathroom with hairdryer/shaver point, large walk-in shower.

Deluxe garden rooms (room 5 & 6)
Pamper yourself with privacy and a luxurious room furnished in contemporary African style.
Imagine French doors leading onto a private verandah. Bedroom with extra length twin beds, bar fridge, fireplace, electronic safe, TV (M-Net). Walk-in closet/dressing room with ample space for your luggage, Wi-Fi hot spot. Air conditioning (cooling and heating), electric blanket for the chilly winter nights. Spacious bathroom with hairdryer/shaver point, large walk-in shower, bath, double vanity unit and separate toilet.

Facilities

The guest lounge overlooks the lovely secluded garden with beautiful views of the Langeberg mountains. Take a refreshing dip in the swimming pool or laze in the shade in a comfortable lounge chair.

Secure off-street parking is available, and restaurants are within easy walking distance.

Breakfast

In the morning a scrumptious breakfast (with homemade bread and fresh orange juice) is served on the terrace under the vines overlooking the garden or indoors.

Malherbe Guesthouse is perfectly located in Montagu, a historical village ideally situated on the legendary Route 62, winding through the Breede River Valley, halfway between Cape Town and Oudtshoorn, and above the Garden Route.
