Le Marais Guest House \ Accommodation in Hout Bay

Le Marais is nestled in the heart of the small fishing village of Hout Bay, a mere 20 minutes from Cape Town city center. The property is situated in a calm and secure area, and has breathtaking views of the rear of Table Mountain. It’s a replica of the traditional Cape Dutch homes, dating back to the 18th century. Its layout is a typical H, and it has a thatched roof.

Accommodation

The accommodation includes three en-suite bedrooms (the smallest is 40m2), in addition to a 60m2 apartment available for guests. This apartment can be self-catering, if required. Most of the rooms have a private courtyard garden. A stunning lounge is located right in the middle of the property, where guests are welcome to relax and enjoy a glass of wine.

ROOI, the Apartment, (60m2):
Consists of a large bedroom, a lounge and a kitchen, and leads directly to the pool. It has a private courtyard garden. Rooi can be self-catering. The bathroom is spacious and well-designed. A sleeping couch is available in the lounge, and therefore Rooi can accommodate four guests.

Rouge, the Honeymoon Sute, (45m2):
The thatch roof, the mezzanine, the wooden furniture and the decoration give Rouge, the Honeymoon Suite (45m2), a very warm and African atmosphere. A large bath has been installed in the lounge, to enhance the African touch.

RED, the Garden Suite, (40m2):
Is very modern, leads directly to the garden, and has its own terrace. The open bathroom has been integrated into the bedroom. The toilet and showers are separate.

ROJO, the Pop Suite (40m2):
Offers stunning views of Table Mountain. The bathroom consists of a totally open shower, and a double vanity cabinet. Rojo will definitely surprise and delight you. A lush, tropical garden, a spacious and sun-filled terrace, and a large and solar-heated swimming pool complete the picture.

All the rooms are en-suite, with bath and / or shower, wireless internet access, flat screen TV, DStv (satellite TV), top quality King size beds and bedding's, a hair dryer and complimentary tea and coffee.

Special attention is paid to design (the property has been re-designed by a young French architect, J. Caille and to decoration. Le Marais, its originality and uniqueness will charm you. More than a simple guest house, it is definitely a destination.

Relaxation

The lounge is the heart and the jewel of the house: large proportions, thatched roof, parquet flooring, warm curtains, wonderful fireplace. The Guests are welcome to have a walk, or relax in the beautiful garden. Guests can also enjoy the large solar-heated pool.

Food and Drink

Special attention is paid to food at Le Marais. Le Marais is ideally situated to explore Cape Town and the Peninsula; it is within 30 minutes of all the major tourist attractions (Cape Town city center, Victoria and Alfred Waterfront, de Waterkant, Camps Bay and Nordhooek world class beaches, Kirstenbosch Botanical Gardens, Boulders Beach, Robben Island) and within 10 minutes of Hout Bay or Llandudno beaches, and the Constantia Wine Route. Stellenbosch, Franschhoek and their world class vineyards, and the National Park of Cape Point are less than an hour’s drive from Le Marais.
