!Khwa ttu offers you the unique experience of being introduced to the world of the San (in the passed called Bushmen). The Centre is housed within a series of lovingly restored old West Coast farm buildings whilst the surrounding area teems with an abundance of birdlife, game and fynbos and stunning views over the Atlantic Ocean and Table Mountain.

The San are descendants of an ancient hunter-gathering people, who have encountered dispossession of their territories, discrimination and poverty. Yet, !Khwa ttu is not a monument to suffering or misery. It is a living celebration of past and present San culture; an uplifting and inspirational experience.

Self Catering Accommodation

Guest House
This self-catering cottage has 3 bedrooms with 2 bathrooms. The sheltered terrace offers stunning views over the Atlantic Ocean. For the winter it has under floor heating and 2 big open fireplaces.

Bush Cottage
This unique self-catering cottage has 2 bedrooms and a cosy kitchen with a large open fireplace. The romantic bathroom is semi-outdoors and provides an unforgettable romantic shower. The Bush Cottage is located within a natural bush land setting and is very private.

Bush Camp
This unique tented camp is set within an idyllic bush land setting. The camp has five comfortable-sized tents, which house 4 beds each. The open-air showers and sheltered toilets are tastefully designed to be in keeping with the natural environment and they offer you an unforgettable showering experience. The circular, semi-roofed boma with its central camp fire ensures an unforgettable camp fire experience.

Restaurant

Whether you plan a quick visit to !Khwa ttu for lunch, or aim to spend more time with us, we can guarantee you a positive and thoroughly enjoyable eating experience! The restaurant is an ideal venue for weddings or any other function.

Conference Venue

If you are looking for a venue in an idyllic rural setting, then we can provide it. Our conference room has all the necessary equipment and can accommodate 40 people.

Activities

A San-guided Experience
Daily at 10am and 2pm: Join us for a fascinating insight into the culture, heritage, knowledge and contemporary life of the San presented by experienced San guides.

This unforgettable three-hour tour entails:
• a ride on an open vehicle through the landscape viewing game and breathtaking vistas
• a nature walk learning about tracking skills and botanical knowledge
• a visit to a replica traditional village for fascinating demonstrations of ancient tools and other extraordinary aspects of the San’s traditional way of life
• a refreshing drink at the Boma, the highest point of !Khwa ttu’s landscape for a captivating introduction to the tones and clicks of the San languages
• a cultural display at the photo gallery and the screening of an ethnographic film.
