The Cape Region around Somerset West is one of the exceptional and most varied areas in the world. Mediterranean climate, wonderful summer with minimum rainfall. A fresh sea breeze makes hot summer days with over 30 degrees comfortable. Even on sunny winter days the temperature rises up to over 20 degrees.

There are many botanical gardens, nature reserves with hundreds of different Erica and Protea, with lots of bird viewing. Throughout the whole year the nature shows all the abundance of colour and perfection. Especially from September to October the spring flowers seem to explode in a firework of colour.

From Khashamongo it is only a 35 min drive to Cape Town - The Mother City - and it`s surrounds with many of historical and culture attractions: different museums, art galleries, craft markets or elegant shopping centres. Also the nightlife invites with theatres, dramatic arts, operas, ballets and concerts, cinemas, african jazz, pop and rock. It is easy to reach the West Coast or Cape Agulhas - the most southerly point of South Africa, even the Garden Route and many other interesting excursions can be made.

In and around Somerset West start beautiful wine routes. Visiting one of the old historical wine farms with their beautiful Cape Dutch styled houses is almost a must. During the month of August until October the costal region around the Cape is home of the whales. On different places it is possible to view - very closed - the mothers with new born whale babies.

The surrounds of Khashamongo is a paradise for all kind of sport activities - almost nothing seems impossible. Especially for guests playing golf - 9 excellent golf courses around Somerset West invite for T-time.
