A beautiful upmarket renovated home in Cape Town available for the duration of the World Cup 2010. The house is perfectly suited for families and couples and is situated in the quiet, secure suburb of Rondebosch. The house has a view of Table Mountain and is within walking distance of a train station and shops.

Accommodation

There are 4 bedrooms upstairs. The house has 2 large bathrooms (one en-suite to the main bedroom) and additional separate WC facilities. The garden is very private with a patio overlooking a pool. The indoors feature gleaming oak parquet flooring in the living areas and a fireplace for the cold winter nights.

Facilities

The house includes parking garages for 3 cars and secure off street parking for an additional 2 cars, all of which is accessible via remote controlled gates. The TV room is equipped with a large screen TV, DVD player, CD player and surround sound. The dining area has a large dining table with seating for up to 10 people. The large kitchen is outfitted with electric hob and double oven, washing machine, tumble dryer, dishwasher, microwave and coffee percolator. The house is well secured with a security alarm.

Activities and surrounding area

The house is close to the mountain and within the area are the Kirstenbosch Gardens, Rhodes Memorial (with its magnificent tea garden), the Baxter Theatre, the Irma Stern museum (renowned for South African artists exhibits), Mosterts Mill and Cavendish Square shopping Mall.

If you enjoy hiking or lazing around enjoying the natural beauty of Cape Town, this house is ideal as a home base for the World Cup. There are 2 world class golf courses, Rondebosch and Mowbray, as well as a driving range, within 5 minutes drive and travel to the World Cup stadium in Greenpoint is a 15 minute drive away – or you can take the leisurely route and go by train – the station is a 2 minute drive or a 20 minute walk away.

A rental car is recommended if you want to travel to the Winelands (10 minute drive to Constantia) or to the restaurants and nightlife in Cape Town Centre or the V&A Waterfront (10 minute drive).
