Fruit Tree Cottage \ Accommodation in Stanford

Fruit Tree Cottage Stanford

Fruit Tree Cottage is a stunning and quaint Victorian era style house located in the picturesque and peaceful town of Stanford and is one of the original houses built in 1896 and recently immaculately renovated and restored. The house has wide Oregon pine floors and ceilings and a loft which we built to add two bedrooms and an additional lounge.

Accommodation

There are 5 bedrooms 2 of which are en suite, 3 bathrooms of which one is communal. Each bathroom has a toilet and between the three bathrooms there are 2 showers and 2 baths. The bathrooms were also recently retiled in clay baked terracotta tiles and refitted with old style fittings and stand alone ball and claw baths as well as new showers.

Of the 5 bedrooms three have double beds, one has two single beds and the other has two double bunks. The upstairs lounge area has a double sleeper couch so Fruit Tree Cottage can accommodate up to 14 people comfortably. We have sleeper cots for baby’s and these can be setup in whichever room the parent’s request.

Facilities

There are two lounges and an indoor fireplace / barbeque / braai area, pub and entertainment / games area. Additional facilities include a professional Ό size pool table, a dart board, a table tennis table, a sandpit for young children and a playhouse with some toys for children to use. There is a DSTV decoder and aerial installed but no DSTV card provided but this can be activated for stays longer then 7 days if requested. There is also a DVD player and HiFi system with a TV in lounge the main lounge.

There is off street parking for 5-6 cars two of which are under cover of a car port. Although not deemed necessary due to the peaceful nature of the area, an installed an alarm system can be activated and deactivated by a remote or keypad and can be set for full coverage or stay coverage.

The kitchen has been redone in cherry wood style cupboards and is fully equipped with a pantry cupboard, dishwasher, oven, stove, microwave, kettle, toaster and all pots, pans and utensils that may be required. The house is well furnished using pieces that match the era and style of the day with a strong leaning towards wooden furniture.

There is an outside laundry which has a new 7.5kg top loader washing machine, a tumble drier, an iron, an ironing board and fold away washing lines should it be raining and the outside washing line not suffice. We can arrange someone to do the laundry and iron at an additional charge should this be required.

Please Note

We request that guests do not smoke in any of the inside rooms but do not mind smoking in the pub, pool room and entertainment area. Oil heaters have been placed in all the bedrooms in the event that they are required. Children and families are welcome and we are well equipped for families with interests for kids of all ages.
