Every day in our little Eden at Langebaan feels like a Friday and we welcome you to come and experience the magnetism of the fun, simplicity and sheer magic of Friday Island in Langebaan, the jewel of the Cape West Coast.

Friday Island Beach House is situated right on the beach, next door to the Cape Sport Centre on the North Shore of Langebaan. Windsurfing and kite-surfing mecca for all levels, frequented by the German Surf magazine, kite-surfer's and the world’s most dedicated watermen.

We are on the doorstep of the West Coast National Park, home of 250 bird species and various other game. There is a Gary Player Championship Golf Course on our doorstep as well as a casino within 5 minutes drive.

Nobody really needs an excuse on Friday and least of all to come and visit us, however if you do, We can offer you the premium venue for a myriad of activities of all ages and walks of life, who all share the ethos of carpe diem at your own pace. There’s no rush because you can’t get closer to the beach.

Accommodation

12 bedrooms all en-suite, 5 sea-facing, 7 side. All non-smoking and all self-catering. 7 side rooms have 2x ¾ beds, separate or together to form king size bed, 5 front rooms have the same and then 2 single beds additional in an upstairs loft. No TV’s in the rooms, but there is one in the Conference Centre and Bar / Restaurant.

Dining

The Robinsoncruisethru, our beach front bar and bistro, where from sunrise to sunset one can sit, mesmerised by the azure waters at your feet and those dancing over SA’s finest water-sport playground. There are many other famous eateries nearby, notably Froggy's 800m down the road, Pearly’s just over 1 kilometre down the road and Oyster Catcher, 1 kilometre up the road.

Conferences & Weddings

Friday Island incorporates a multipurpose venue facility, catering for niche conferences, 21st’s, weekend long 40th birthdays, weddings, product launches and teambuilding events, involving the ocean or the land and surrounds. The venue is also very child-friendly with a large grass deck sloping down to the beach where children can swim in a protected environment.

Activities

Surfing in Langebaan is far removed the glamour sport that you are used to on TV. Laid back and steeped in West Coast traditions, our surfers can guide you on how to catch a wave "westcoast style" that is, with an 8 foot long board and a short wet suit. Langebaan is the unidsputed windsurfing champion spot of South Africa. We can help you get set-up with your gear and you can set off and sail for as long as you want.

Langebaan offers some of the best rowing, kayaking and canoeing you can ever hope to encounter. There are numerous diving spots along the West Coast where you can catch the best crayfish in the world, see unique underwater life, and experience diving at its most enjoyable.
