Emerald View \ Accommodation in Langebaan

Just over a hundred kilometres from Cape Town, lie the emerald waters of the Langebaan lagoon and the West Coast National Park. A stone’s throw away from these warm waters is Emerald View.

Roger and Jennifer Young, who have been living in Langebaan for five years, have recently built their new house, incorporating one floor with four en-suite bathrooms for guests.

Accommodation

The building is situated at the top end of a quiet cul-de-sac, overlooking the Langebaan Lagoon with amazing views. Each room opens on to a deck with a rim flow pool. There is a lift for the physically compromised to gain access to the breakfast room. Undercover parking bays are available for each room. A laundry service is on a request basis.

The four en suite bedrooms all have flat screen TV, individual electronic safe, wall heaters, ceiling fan, hypo allergenic pillows, fluffy white towels, tea / coffee facilities with West Coast rusks. There is also a library with an interesting collection of books.

These four rooms are:
• No 1 Flamingo - Wheelchair friendly, King or twin beds, extra length
• No 2 Oystercatcher - Queen bed
• No 3 Kingfisher - Queen bed with en-suite TV room
• No 4 Sandpiper - King or twin extra length with en-suite bathroom with slipper bath.

Your hosts are Roger and Jennifer Young. Jennifer has had 15 years experience when she ran her six bedroom B&B in Hout Bay, just outside Cape Town. She enjoys her social bridge and her walks on the beach.

Roger is a retired dentist and a former British and Irish Lions scrum half. He is also a member of the local golf club, playing tennis and bowls. The Langebaan Yacht Club is a two minute walk from Emerald View, where Roger is a member.

Activities and Attractions

There are many and varied things to do close by Emerald View. Bird watching is extremely popular with over 250 species of birds. For the energetic, kite surfers from all over the world come to Langebaan in the summer months.

There are three golf courses nearby. Here, Roger would advise and help with tee off times.

Many other activities include wine tours, fishing charters, sailing trips, cycling, running, horse riding, canoeing, swimming, hiking, tennis, bowls and a visit to the West Coast fossil Park is most interesting. A ten minute drive will take you to Mykonos casino.

Also close to Emerald View is the Farmhouse Hotel which has a wellness spa centre, only a minute’s walk away. In order to maintain the relaxing ambience of Emerald View, only children over the age of 12 years can be accommodated.

Finally, Emerald View has a blend of elegance and casual comfort. Breathe deeply, exhale slowly and discover the West Coast.
