Dongola House luxury guest house is situated within the tranquil Constantia Valley and Constantia Wine route, (Cape Town's vineyard) and borders a nature rich green belt with stunning views of Constantiaberg Mountain.

This spacious seven bed-roomed guest house caters not only for the discerning businessman, but also for tourists who are searching for something uniquely South African.

Accommodation

Seven elegant en-suite bedrooms in a countryside setting are complemented by a luxurious dining room, a cosy lounge with open fire for the cooler winter months, a large heated pool and loungers for those hot summer months. Business facilities include printer, fax Wifi internet / email and Skype. Secure parking for seven cars is provided.

All rooms are equipped with a 30 channel satellite system ensuring there should always be something to watch, failing that there is a selection of DVD’s which can be viewed in the Guest Lounge. Rooms also contain a selection of CD’s, heaters, fans and safes.

The Rooms

Garden King En-suite (Rooms 1, 3, 4)
Decorated in warm neutral tones, these rooms have a king size bed (extra long), desk and seating nook, en-suite bathroom with shower, WC, bathrobe and complimentary bath products. TV, radio / CD stereo-system, hairdryer, tea and coffee facilities. All have a private entrance and patio with mountain views with a table and 2 chairs with direct access to the pool deck and garden.

Garden Twin En-suite (Room 2)
Elegantly appointed, the room has two single beds (extra long), desk and seating nook, en-suite bathroom with shower, WC, bathrobes and complimentary bath products. LCD TV, radio / CD stereo-system, hairdryer, tea and coffee facilities. This room with its private entrance and patio with table and 2 chairs is in a secluded corner of the garden.

Garden Queen En-suite (Room 5)
Decorated in warm neutral tones, this smaller room has a Queen size bed, desk and seating nook, a large en-suite bathroom with huge bath, shower, WC, bathrobes and complimentary bath products. TV, radio / CD stereo-system, hairdryer and tea and coffee facilities. A private entrance and patio with mountain views has a table and 2 chairs with direct access to the pool deck and garden.

King En-suite (Room 6)
A larger room with private entrance and courtyard. Loads of storage space makes it perfect for long stays, full bathroom en-suite with huge bath, shower, WC, bidet, bath robes and complimentary bath products. Satellite LCD TV, DVD player, radio/CD stereo-system, hair dryer, tea and coffee facilities Wireless internet.

King (Room 7)
Decorated in modern African style, the room has a king size bed (extra long), desk, private bathroom (not en-suite) across the passage with shower, WC, bathrobe and complimentary bath products. Satellite TV, tea and coffee facilities, hairdryer. Wireless internet.

Activities and Attractions

Surrounded by eight vineyards, friendly pubs, and superb restaurants to suit all tastes and budgets, golf courses and the magnificent Kirstenbosch Botanical gardens. With the M3 highway only three kilometres away you are minutes from the Victoria and Alfred Waterfront, Table Mountain, Robben Island, The International Convention Centre both Greenpoint and Newlands stadia or the spectacular beaches of the Indian and Atlantic Ocean seaboards with their quaint and quirky villages. We can organise surfing lessons in Muizenburg.

Or for the wild at heart why not try a hike on the many trails in the Table Mountain National Park or Tokai forests. Take a trip to the beautifully rugged Cape point Nature Reserve or Boulders Beach to see the penguins. For the brave of heart we can even organise a Shark diving trip, Whale watching or a walk with wild baboon troupes.

Our newly landscaped gardens, which are over looked by the majestic Constantiaberg Mountain, border an environmental "green belt", called the Grootboschkloof River Walk, which will ensure your stay will be quiet, peaceful and relaxing.

Your hosts during your stay at Dongola House, Mike and Sally Oughtibridge along with Peter Eckstein, reside at the premises and are there to make your stay that extra bit special whether it be with advice as to which restaurants to dine at, where to taste the fruit of the vine, car hire, assistance with transport to and from the airport, organising an "adventure" or simply just to have a chat.

Please Note

In line with South African legislation, Dongola House is a non-smoking residence, smoking is only allowed outside the main house and rooms.
