Diepkloof River Lodge is a fully equipped, self catering chalet (which sleeps up to 4 guests) with a timber deck offering spectacular views. A secluded location, ensuring total privacy. Diepkloof River Lodge perches in secluded splendour about 4 km off the N2 near Heidelberg, Western Cape, about 270 km from centre Cape Town.

Accommodation

Diepkloof has a clean relaxed atmosphere. Pine in and out, the chalet is cosy at night and airy by day. The cottage is fully equipped in a very neat and uncluttered style. The perks include a Jetmaster (free wood provided), a honeymoon-styled bathtub, all bedding and towels for 4 persons and basic assentials. There’s no electricity, instead solar panels, a gas stove, geyser and fridge.

Whether reclining in the lounge or braai-ing on the broad timber deck, the view over the pool and distant horizons is impressive. Total privacy and isolation are guaranteed.

Attractions & Activities

Whether kicking back in the lounge or braaing your lamb chops on the broad timber deck, the view over the river and distant horizons is impressive. A 10-minute stroll brings you to the pool in the river, which is the main focus of activity during your stay - apart from swimming, the occasional walk and general chilling there isn’t much else to do in the immediate vicinity.

A tour of a dairy, sheep and ostrich farm (great for kids) can be arranged, and the Grootvadersbosch Nature Reserve, with its fynbos, birdlife, beautiful hikes and brilliant mountain bike trail, is within easy reach by car.
