The 5 stylish, self-catering, fully furnished apartments are spacious and have recently been refurbished. The funky apartments have retained their old world feel with Oregon wooden floors, exposed brick and ceiling beams and been decorated with a hint of contemporary urban Africa.

Each apartment sleeps 2-4 people and has an open plan kitchen dining area and lounge. The front apartments have French doors, which open up onto Long Street the perfect place to sit on a warm evening and watch the street transform.

The Apartments are situated above popular restaurants, Café Mojito and Khaya Nama in Long Street. One of the oldest streets in Cape Town dating back to arrival of the first settlers in Cape Town, it is often said that Long Street runs through the heart of Cape Town and through the hearts of all who frequent her cafes and clubs, buy her books and beads, her antiques and African art!

The Daddy Long Legs concept began with these original Daddy Long Legs Apartments. The five apartments have proved so successful that owners Jody Aufrichtig and Nicholas Ferguson decided to expand the concept with a second Daddy Long Legs Art Hotel, also positioned in Long Street, above The African Music Store.

Staying in the Daddy Long Legs Art Hotel is like being part of an interactive art exhibition. The thirteen-room boutique hotel is quite unlike anything else in South Africa. Not only is each room uniquely decorated by an artist, poet, photographer, designer or musician, but, they were afforded complete freedom to interpret the space as they pleased, resulting in a collection of hotel rooms that are an adventurous, humorous (and sometimes ironic) representation of Cape Town’s contemporary cultural landscape.

Next was the Grand Daddy Hotel, This 4 start hotel further down Long Street still keeps the charm of family-owned hotel. The Grand Daddy’s big talking point is its ‘penthouse’ trailer park, where a collection of vintage Airstream caravans nestle beneath the backdrop of Table Mountain.
