Cap Serein Guest House \ Accommodation in Hout Bay

Cap Serein Guest House Hout Bay

Hearty hospitality, unforgettable food and profound tranquillity are the hallmarks of Provence. But you needn’t go to France to enjoy all that, because Cape Town now has a Provençal guesthouse of its very own. Peaceful Cap Serein Bed and Breakfast offers all of the above.

High on the mountain slopes overlooking the fishing port of Hout Bay, the only noise you’ll encounter here is chirping birds and the occasional splash from the koi ponds. Recently restored in the style of Provence, Cap Serein is about peace, quiet and exceptional cuisine.

ACCOMMODATION

Marseille
This detached cottage offers the utmost privacy and is ideal for longer stays. Styled with a contemporary feel and modern décor, there’s a king-size bed, a double shower, underfloor heating and heated towel rails. The cottage has private pedestrian access from the street, as well as its own terrace, living room and study area. Both the indoor and outdoor areas are spacious enough to entertain groups. There’s a fireplace, minibar and hot beverage facilities. Marseille has German satellite TV in addition to DSTV satellite channels. The Cottage is wheelchair friendly.

Avignon / Arles
Spacious rooms offer two beds as a double or twin option. There’s underfloor heating in the bathroom, which has a spacious shower. The room has a fireplace, minibar and hot beverage facilities. There’s DSTV satellite television and a furnished, covered terrace for all-weather relaxation.

If you’ve come to Cape Town to relax, Cap Serein will suit you right down to the ground. The shady garden is full of nooks and crannies, with plenty of corners where you can lose yourself in a good book. Hidden pathways meander between the blue gum, lemon and olive trees.

There’s also a stunning and sunny pool terrace, where you can sunbathe and cool off while enjoying splendid views of the ocean, mountains and the village of Hout Bay.

The rooms at Cap Serein are all excellent hideaways too. Each is decorated in its own unique style, and the detached Marseille cottage is an ideal option for long-stay visitors looking for a home from home. Cap Serein guests can also expect secure off street parking and automatic lights to show the way through the garden at night.

Breakfast and Dining

Expect superb breakfasts in the sun room, with cooked fare and a selection of home-baked pastries getting your day off to a hearty start. At breakfast you’ll also get to see Kurt’s dinner menu, and decide if you’d like to join them for dinner at the Alpenstube Restaurant that evening.

The evening menus will delight you. You might find yourself sitting down to local cuisine, seafood fresh from Hout Bay Harbour or perhaps something quintessentially French.

THINGS TO DO

If you’d prefer an experienced hand to show you the splendour of the Cape, Cap Serein can arrange the services of a qualified tour guide fluent in English, German and Spanish.

Local tours could include Table Mountain, Kirstenbosch Botanic Garden, V&A Waterfront and Robben Island, Cape Point Nature Reserve and Constantia Wine Route, just to mention a few.

Perfectionists Kurt and Petra have spent years travelling the world, both enjoying and providing hospitality of the highest level. Their vision for Cap Serein was to use that experience to create a haven you’ll never want to leave.
