Situated on Cape Town's scenic West Coast, Baysands Lodge is in Bloubergstrand, a coastal village on the scenic west coast of Cape Town. It is situated 20min is from Cape Town City Centre and 25 minutes from Cape Town International Airport. Blouberg is famous for its panoramic views of Table Mountain across the bay and is a popular destination for water sports, beautiful beaches and vibrant nightlife.

The coast of Blouberg offers long, sandy beaches, and Baysands offers an ideal base from which to surf, windsurf, kits surf, hike, shark dive, sail or fish, or just enjoy more leisurely pursuits such as a winelands tour, shopping at Cape Town's V&A Waterfront, or visiting the world famous Kirstenbosh Botanical Gardens.

Accommodation

Baysands Lodge is your home away from home, whether you are single, a couple or a family this is the place to be offering 5 large, comfortable and spacious en-suite bedrooms with single, double or twin options - 3 have sea-views. The expansive open plan living & entertainment areas offer magnificent views of Table Mountain, the ocean and Robben Island. The dining facilities cater for all indoor & outdoor experiences serviced by a well-equipped modern kitchen. There are 4 terraces all with sea & mountain views, as well as a sparkling lap pool (solar- heated) set in the private garden.

Accommodation includes breakfast, rooms are serviced daily and laundry services and facilities are available on site. Each room has tea and coffee making facilities as well as a bar fridge which is supplied with complimentary fresh milk and bottled water daily. All rooms have plasma TV’s with 8 DSTV channels.

Facilities

The lodge has a heated 12m lap pool in the garden and provides both swimming and beach towels to guests. Other recreation facilities include a superior slate pool table, an air-hockey table, darts board, mountain bikes and a well-stocked library. Airport transfers can be arranged as well as assistance with any other excursions if required.

Baysands is a non-smoking venue but guests may smoke on the balconies or in the garden.

Location

The main beach in Bloubergstrand is called Big Bay. Big Bay is a surfers´ paradise and hosts several national and international competitions every year. Little Bay is a nice family beach and suitable for sunbathers. The Big Bay beach is only 500 metres walk away as are the whole host of restaurants offering excellent dining options within walking distance of the lodge and the area has a great variety of modern shopping centres with all amenities, including cinemas, in one of the fastest growing areas in Cape Town.

Bloubergstrand has many restaurants including Ons Huisie an original fisherman´s cottage at the water’s edge where you can enjoy a seafood feast whilst enjoying the views and sunset. On the Rocks - where you are literally as close to the sea as its possible to be and for the young at heart The Blue Peter Pub & Pizzieria.

The recently opened Eden on the Bay where only the beach separates shoppers from the sea offers even more great restaurants to choose from including Moyo & Ciao Baby. All of this is within walking distance of Baysands Lodge!
