Atikhama \ Accommodation in McGregor

Atikhama is a very spacious and luxurious “Zen styled” self catering home. The house has an understated style of comfort, sensuality and stimulation. It has three bedrooms and three bathrooms, a large lounge (with open fire place) leading into a fully equipped kitchen.

McGregor is a charming village surrounded by mountain trails, fruit orchards, olive groves and vineyards. It is considered one of the best examples of a mid-nineteenth century townscape in the Cape. A haven for restful retreat, relaxing massages and alternative remedies, it's the ideal place to end a day of cycling, hiking, golfing and wine routing. McGregor is situated 10 minutes from Robertson (Route 62) and is less than two hours driving from Cape Town.

Atikhama has wonderful outdoor entertainment facilities:

A long veranda running the full length of the house with dining tables for sumptuous feasts and a conversation nook in the corner where one can take tea, read books, have a chat or simply relax.

The outdoor “Boma” which is open to the stars (of which there are many in the Karoo) was inspired by numerous safaris. It has a circular fireplace around which one can relax and share fireside stories, as well as a braai and dining table.

Play area for kids; a sandpit, three swings hanging from a tree and a large garden to explore.

This is an ideal house for weekend get-aways and for exploring the Breede River Wine Lands. It's well suited for small groups of people such as wedding parties, seminar attendees and even film shoots. All you have to do is arrive. This is no ordinary house, but a home with a soul. Spending a weekend or a few days in this home with friends and family is be an unforgettable experience.
