Allandale Farm \ Accommodation in Citrusdal

Situated 9km outside of Citrusdal the farm is on the Middelberg Pass which is on top of the Middelberg Mountains and is part of the greater Cederberg Mountain Range. The farm is a working citrus and rooibos farm and has two mountain streams that originate from higher up in the sandstone mountains, providing crystal clear mineral water to the farm.

The mountain cottages have views over orchards and mountains and are very homely. Activities include hiking, fishing at mountain streams, mountain biking on the farm and scenic 4x4 routes. There is a nine hole golf course in town and a variety of coffee shops and steak houses.

Self catering Accommodation

There are two self catering houses. They are very safe and private, offering self-catering accommodation in the picturesque Citrusdal Mountains. Away from all the traffic and fast paced life, here you can relax and enjoy every moment in peace.

Guesthouse 1 (more rustic and for bigger groups)
This spacious guest house can accommodate 12 persons. It is equipped with kitchen utensils and the kitchen itself is homely and simple. This is a home away from home with the pleasures of air conditioning, Jet Master, braai facilities, a swimming pool (to share with other cottage) and DSTV. There is a beautiful garden with a swing for children and toys to play with. The cottage is equipped with two bathrooms, one with a shower and one with bath. Network signal for cell phones is available at the cottage.

Guesthouse 2 (luxury for couples and families)
This luxury house accommodates six persons. Enjoy the Jacuzzi, braai facilities, swimming pool (shared with Guesthouse 1) and DSTV. There is a fully equipped kitchen, beautiful garden and a swing for children. The accommodation has two beautiful bathrooms, one with a bath and one with shower. Network signal for cell phones is available.

Activities and attractions

Hiking, mountain biking and fishing around the farm and mountains - please bring your own gear. There is also the river you can swim in and a lovely 4x4 route for panoramic scenic drives. An abundance of bird life has been identified with big variety of Fynbos to identify. In town you can play a round of golf or visit numerous other hiking trails and 4x4 routes or go on a horse ride.

Wine and Dine

The cottages are all self catering and guests are encouraged to drive back to Citrusdal village and experience country side hospitality at the famous Via The Grape Vine coffee shop. Bydidam offers excellent value for money or try Die Sitrus Steak house (get 10% discount when mentioning you are staying at Allandale Guest Farm) - my advice is to visit each one and let me us know which you prefer!
